National Career Monitoring Survey for those who graduated five years ago
What has happened in your life and career during the five years since graduation? The National Career Monitoring Survey examines the careers of graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a university of applied sciences and their experiences of the relevance of their education to working life.
The survey is sent to everyone who completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a Finnish university of applied sciences five years ago. The survey is conducted by the universities of applied sciences in cooperation with CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd.
Your response is important. The survey provides information on how well education at universities of applied sciences meets the needs of working life and on the career paths of graduates.
By responding to the survey, you
- help students and applicants make informed choices about education and careers
- provide valuable information for developing education and career guidance
- contribute to the development of future education at universities of applied sciences
- also contribute to the funding of universities of applied sciences.
How is the survey conducted?
You will receive a personal invitation to participate in the survey by email and text message.
Background information about your degree is obtained from the VIRTA higher education achievement register, so you will not be asked to provide this information separately in the questionnaire. Contact details for sending the survey are obtained from student or alumni registers and from public sources. The contact details are used only for sending the survey and are deleted after the survey has been completed.
Responses are treated confidentially, and individual respondents cannot be identified from the published results.
Why is the Career Monitoring Survey conducted?
The Career Monitoring Survey provides national information on the careers of graduates from universities of applied sciences and on how well their education meets the needs of working life. The results are used to develop education and career guidance at universities of applied sciences, and they also have an impact on the funding of universities of applied sciences.
The Career Monitoring Survey is conducted in accordance with the Universities of Applied Sciences Act (932/2014) and the Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences (1129/2014), and is required by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Results from previous years are available in the Vipunen.fi and Toissa.fi services.
Every response helps to build a more reliable picture of graduates’ careers and contributes to the development of higher education for the future.
